This exhibition shows what was being depicted in the northern Low Countries in the fifteenth and early sixteenth century. It gives an overview of the period from Geertgen tot Sint Jans to Lucas van Leyden, whose work is rooted in the Middle Ages but heralds the start of the Dutch Renaissance. The panels and other objects, including 49 late medieval religious insignias from the Van Beuningen Family Collection, gave the visitor a rare glimpse of the daily life of the Late Middle Ages |
