| Wednesday, September 9th, H.J.E. van Beuningen died at the age of 95 years. He was the founder and great stimulator of the Medieval Badges Foundation. During the past forty years Mr Van Beuningen initiated and supported with great enthusiasm many scholarly activities concerning medieval badges.
After the publication of Heilig & Profaan (Holy & Profane) 1, 2 and 3, the work group momentarily is preparing the publication of Heilig & Profaan 4. The work group will very much miss Mr Van Beuningen's profound knowledge and input. In view of this, the publication of the book has been postponed until the beginning of 2016. It is Mr Van Beuningen's wish to secure the continuity of research into medieval badges. We therefore would like to stimulate those interested to continue reporting finds to the foundation and to continue consulting the foundation for all questions concerning medieval badges.
